Podium Finish for Blake at Tri-State Speedway08/31/2008
On Sunday afternoon the Fitzpatrick Racing Team loaded up the black 10F and headed South to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana. The night started off well with Blake starting on the front row of his heat race and taking the checkered flag. This was Blake’s first heat race win at Haubstadt, and with the MSCS. The heat race win would set Blake to start on the inside of the second row of the A- main event. When the field took the green flag Blake missed the bottom grove and lost two positions. Though, on lap five would make his way around the car ahead and move into fourth. With a few cautions in between Blake was able to stay close to the front three and with four laps to go passed Brady Short for third. Blake took the white flag while running third but Hunter Scherenburg and Jeff Bland Jr. made contact in turn two and Blake was able to pass Bland on the backstretch. As they came across the line the top five was Scherenburg, Fitzpatrick, Bland, Short, and Ballou. Blake feels that he and the team are getting better every time they go to Haubstadt and are looking forward to the next event at Tri-State Speedway.

Lawrenceburg Speedway Re-cap 08/30/2008
On Saturday afternoon Blake and the rest of the Fitzpatrick racing team headed down to Lawrenceburg Speedway for the Dick Gaines Memorial. The night looked like it would be a off to a rough start for Blake as he drew a very high pill draw number to start 8th in his heat race. Though, Blake didn’t let the starting position bother him as he went to the top grove and made an impressive charge to a very strong 2nd place in the heat race. Blake started 8th in the feature and got off to a good start after moving into sixth. Blake was making a charge on the cars in front of him but hit a rut causing him to loose three positions. Blake regained his momentum and was stalking the cars ahead when he hit a different rut on the top grove and debeaded the right front tire. So the night was over for the 10F machine.

Kokomo Speedway Re-Cap for Fitzpatrick Racing08/18/2008
Blake Fitzpatrick out of West Terre Haute, IN, takes the Forsythe Racing sprinter to Kokomo, IN to race against some of the best in the business when it comes to non-wing sprint car racing. Starting the night out in the right direction, Blake qualified the Fitzpatrick machine in the 6th spot. Starting 5th in the heat, Blake put the elbows up and raced his way through the rest of the field in the short 8 lap battle and came out on top. With his qualifying efforts and heat race domination, Blake started on the pole for the Main Event at Kokomo Speedway. Racing second behind veteran driver Dave Darland for the first five laps set the pace for the evening until Hunter Schuerenberg was able to get by. Throughout the 30 lap contest and the enormous amounts of lapped traffic, Blake fell back just a little and finished in the sixth spot behind the likes of veteran racers of Dave Darland and Jon Stanbrough. Overall a good showing for the weekend, Fitzpatrick took home the 1000 bucks for winning the Hoosier Auto Racing Fan Club (HARF).
